| American Language School has been in business for over twenty
years and has approximately 80 schools throughout Japan. American Language School
employs over 100 native English-speaking teachers on its staff. This gives a unique
blend of being a large stable company without becoming so large that we lose sight
of what our teachers and students want. |

The Head office location recruits, hires and trains each
new teacher for all locations. We require candidates for a number of locations
with a number of start dates.
American Language School is a network of English conversation schools. We focus
on assisting our students in accomplishing their English goals. Our students develop
skills for many different reasons. For personal reasons, or business needs, to
academic growth and development. We cater to a wide variety of students. We have
a student population that spans various levels and ages, but has a large population
of children elementary classes. Approximately 50-60% of our classes are children
classes.
American Language School provides in-house training for our teachers to become
familiar with our teaching philosophies and curriculum. However we do encourage
and expect our teachers to bring personality and creativity to all of their lessons.
After training, our teachers observe outgoing teachers to become even more familiar
with our programs and to create a smooth transition for our teachers and students.
Ongoing support is provided to our teachers through unique roles of Head Teachers
and Block Managers. Head Teachers provide ongoing classroom assistance whereas
Block Managers provide ongoing life in Japan support.
We provide a one-year contract with full visa sponsorship.
American Language School has a five-day workweek based on 25 hours of teaching
time.
A first year salary of 250,000 yen per month.
We provide a very generous five-week paid vacation schedule; two weeks in winter,
one week in the spring, and two weeks in the summer.
American Language School covers all of the start up costs for an apartment. Every
teacher will have a private apartment with a maximum rent of 55,000 yen per month.
The following items are included in the apartment; phone, refrigerator, washing
machine, heater/air-conditioning unit and basic furnishings.
American Language School school pays for all transportation between the teacher's
apartment and school.
There is a bimonthly teacher support meeting. This serves as an opportunity to
share teaching ideas, solve teaching concerns and disseminate company information.
